A Comparative Analysis of Nature-based Solutions in Asia: An Analytical Framework Based on the IUCN Global Standard and Impact Management Norms abstract: 自然解方（Nature-based Solutions， NbS）近年被視為回應氣候變遷、災害風險、生物多樣性喪失、糧食安全、水安全、社會經濟發展及人類健康等挑戰的重要途徑。

This study examines Nature-based Solutions (NbS) cases in Asia and explores how different cases respond to climate change， disaster risk， biodiversity loss， food security， water security， social and economic development， and human health challenges. In Asia， NbS cases have increased in response to multiple climate and environmental pressures. However， many existing studies focus on single cases， specific ecosystems， or specific benefits. Fewer studies compare Asian NbS cases through a consistent classification and outcome assessment framework. Therefore， this study aims to develop an analytical framework for comparing Asian NbS cases and to examine the feasibility of applying this framework to real case materials.
This study has two main objectives. First， it develops a classification framework based on the IUCN Global Standard for Nature-based Solutions， NbS approach categories， and the IUCN Global Ecosystem Typology. The framework classifies cases by Challenge Type， Solution Type， and Realm-Biome-Ecosystem Functional Group. It also draws on the logic of Impact Management Norms to divide outcomes into human-centric outcomes and planet-centric outcomes， and further assesses Measurement Maturity and How-Much Maturity. Second， it applies the framework to a complete dataset of 72 Asian NbS case studies systematically retrieved from the Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Information Platform (AP-PLAT) database to examine how the framework works in practice.
The results show that Asian NbS cases cover diverse societal challenges and ecosystem contexts. They are not limited to nature conservation or ecological restoration， but are also applied to urban stormwater management， coastal protection， mangrove restoration， climate-smart agriculture， community forestry， water resource management， and traditional agricultural landscape management. The five Solution Types help explain the different operational logics of the cases， including ecosystem restoration approaches， ecosystem protection approaches， infrastructure-related approaches， issue-specific ecosystem-related approaches， and ecosystem-based management approaches. The study also finds that Measurement Maturity is generally higher than How-Much Maturity. This means that most cases can identify outcome items or indicators， but fewer cases provide clear evidence on the scale， depth， or duration of outcomes. Overall， this study provides an analytical framework for comparing Asian NbS cases and suggests that future NbS research and practice should strengthen outcome quantification， long-term monitoring， and transparency in case documentation.

Multi-Media Environmental Quality Monitoring and Assessment in the Vicinity of an Industrial Park: A Case Study of Zhongli Industrial Park abstract:
;Industrial parks cluster diverse industries whose combined environmental burden cannot be
adequately captured by any single monitoring medium， yet existing studies remain confined largely to
single-medium assessments， air， water， or groundwater alone， with no established framework of
indicators and analytical methods applicable consistently across all mandated domains， nor evidence
that such a framework is workable under real operating conditions. This thesis therefore aims to
identify indicators and matched analytical methods suitable for multi-media environmental quality
monitoring at industrial parks， and to verify their feasibility and operability through a three-year case
study at Zhongli Industrial Park， Taoyuan， Taiwan. Drawing on ROC Years 112–114 (2023–2025)
monitoring data across seven domains， ambient air quality， drinking water quality， river water quality，
groundwater quality， noise， coastal water quality， and acid rain， this study applies Mann-Kendall trend
testing， Sen′s slope estimation， the NSF Water Quality Index， and a Groundwater Quality Index，
together with purpose-built quarterly compliance heatmaps and a red/yellow/green severity-ranking
scheme， to translate this multi-parameter dataset into an at-a-glance risk overview.
Results identify river water quality and groundwater at Zhongfu Park as the highest-severity
(Red) domains， with NH₃-N and fecal coliform exceeding standards in all 24 quarterly records on the
Huangquan River and Very High to High GQI risk at Zhongfu Park throughout. PM₂.₅ remained above
Taiwan and WHO standards despite improvement in six of eleven other air-quality parameters; PCE
repeatedly exceeded standard at Neiding Elementary groundwater; noise， coastal water， and acid rain
were broadly stable to improving but not yet fully compliant; and drinking water achieved full three
year compliance， with the Neili Junior High well the lowest-risk site despite pronounced iron
enrichment. A rising electrical conductivity and zinc signal at the downstream Zhongfu Bridge station
relative to the upstream station points to a possible unidentified discharge source. These findings
confirm that the proposed indicator set and analytical framework are feasible and operable under real
monitoring conditions， offering industrial park operators and environmental authorities a transferable
tool for prioritising monitoring and management resources.

;Global biodiversity loss demands standardized mechanisms for quantifying restoration outcomes beyond seedling-count metrics. This study constructs a multi-temporal remote-sensing framework to test， rather than presume， whether an afforestation effect is detectable at three sites established by a Taiwan-based non-profit organization (NPO) under Mongolia′s &amp;quot; One Billion Trees&amp;quot; National Movement， spanning cold semi-arid steppe (BSk)， dry-winter cold-summer continental (Dwc)， and cold desert (BWk) zones， and explicitly aligned with the Align (2022) standard for corporate biodiversity measurement.
Sentinel-2 imagery， a Random Forest land-cover classification (overall accuracy 87.76%)， landscape-structure metrics， and the CASA productivity model are integrated in Google Earth Engine to instrument Ecosystem Extent and the structural and functional facets of Ecosystem Condition. The afforestation effect is estimated by an interrupted time-series design against a counterfactual baseline over symmetric pre- and post-intervention windows， with precipitation as a robustness control and NDVI as a sensitivity comparator.
The results diverge by dimension. Extent and Structure are modestly positive at the two vegetated sites， where woody area expanded and patches consolidated into larger， more dominant stands; the cold-desert site records no woody vegetation， its stable grassland better read as resistance to desertification. Functioning shows no established effect at any site: the largest raw pre/post increase in productivity resolves into a net effect indistinguishable from zero， the one marginal signal dissolves once rainfall is controlled， and NDVI never attains significance.
The null reflects detectability rather than intervention failure: stands are two to four years old， crowns small against a 10 m pixel， and moisture variability dominates the productivity signal. By reporting the Align dimensions jointly and testing the intervention against a counterfactual， the framework shows that a structural gain cannot be converted into a functional claim， offering a scalable template for NPO-led afforestation reporting under the TNFD and Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

<description>title: Carbon Isn′t Priced — Trust Is: The Credibility Paradox in Thailand′s Emerging Capital Market;Carbon Isn′t Priced — Trust Is: The Credibility Paradox in Thailand′s Emerging Capital Market abstract:
;This study examines how Thai equity markets price corporate sustainability disclosures.
Using a panel of 61 high-emission SET100-listed firms over 2020–2024， we develop the
Credibility Paradox framework， arguing that investors reward disclosure credibility rather than
underlying carbon performance in Thailand′s voluntary disclosure environment.
We find that carbon emissions intensity shows no association with firm value， while
ESG reputation commands a meaningful market premium. Third-party verification imposes
real accounting costs without generating a corresponding valuation benefit， suggesting that
credibility investments precede market recognition. The ESG premium is conditional on
financial context: it exists only among firms with low dividend yields and disappears where
strong financial signals already reduce investor uncertainty， consistent with a signal
substitutability mechanism.
These findings contribute to the literature on carbon pricing in emerging markets and
carry direct implications for Thailand′s sustainability disclosure policy and anticipated
Emissions Trading Scheme.
