The anticipated impact of this proposed work is threefold: 1) Enhancing our understanding of global warming and extreme events: This research will improve our understanding of how global warming affects extreme events as well as how these extremes, in turn, impact the climate. It will provide fundamental insights into the dynamics of climate change, predictability, and extreme event management. These insights will benefit agriculture, public health, and more, enabling policymakers to make informed decisions that improve economic, environmental, and social conditions for both Taiwanese and international communities. 2) Addressing climate intervention: The research outcomes from our climate intervention research direction will provide meaningful insights and significantly benefit communities by identifying strategies to combat climate change. This innovative research direction will engage students in research and inspire public interest in atmospheric science, particularly regarding climate-related issues. 3) Fostering global collaboration: This project aims to promote domestic and international collaborations, creating a sense of global community by connecting experts in Taiwan and around the world. Additionally, the project will support graduate students by recruiting both local and international candidates, ensuring a diverse and inclusive academic environment.
