;Taiwan′s diverse topography and high proportion of mountainous terrain necessitate public infrastructure development on steep slopes. However, traditional large-scale excavation methods often impose severe environmental impacts. This research aims to investigate the efficacy of an integrated approach—combining the Bamboo-cut shaped Excavation with Well Foundation—to achieve a balance between construction safety, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability in steep slope engineering. To this end, two representative cases, the "Airport MRT Linkou A7 Station Peripheral Road Construction" and the "Tai 7 Highway 32K+500 Disaster Recovery Project," were selected for a comprehensive evaluation across four dimensions: carbon reduction, ecological conservation, structural safety monitoring, and economic viability. The results indicate that the Bamboo-cut shaped Excavation and Well Foundation methods offer significant advantages over traditional techniques. Regarding environmental impact, this approach substantially reduces the excavation scale (by approximately 62% in Case I and 76% in Case II), effectively preserving the original slope profile and enabling vegetation coverage to recover to over 90% post-construction, demonstrating superior ecological resilience and carbon reduction benefits. Safety monitoring via inclinometer systems confirmed the stability of slope deformation, verifying the structural reliability of these methods on steep gradients. Economically, the proposed approach achieved cost savings of 28% to 30% compared to conventional methods, highlighting its high cost-effectiveness and potential for broader application. To optimize future engineering practices, this study suggests adopting Design-Build (DB) procurement to bridge the gap between geological surveys and site conditions. Furthermore, construction access roads and platform layouts should be integrated into the preliminary design phase to preemptively manage spatial conflicts and safety risks. Finally, contractor technical expertise should be incorporated into the evaluation criteria, alongside the establishment of standardized construction guidelines, low-carbon material mandates, and BIM-based digital handovers to ensure the sustainable maintenance of public infrastructure.
