This study adopts a case study approach to examine a small manufacturing enterprise in Taiwan (Company A) with approximately ten employees, to examine the effects of implementing the Ecount cloud-based ERP system on order management and inventory management. Research data were collected through a comparison of operational data before and after ERP implementation, internal company documents, and semi-structured interviews with management and key system users. The DeLone and McLean (2003) Information Systems Success Model was employed as the analytical framework to evaluate system quality, information quality, service quality, system use, user satisfaction, and net benefits. The results indicate that the cloud-based ERP system demonstrates clear advantages in system stability and centralized data management, effectively reducing the information maintenance burden for small enterprises. In terms of order management, the standardization of pricing and discount rules significantly reduced calculation errors and improved data consistency and traceability. However, order accuracy did not show a substantial improvement, as order intake continued to rely on external communication tools. Regarding inventory management, inventory accuracy initially declined due to incomplete master data and inconsistent item coding during the early implementation stage. As data standardization and operational processes gradually stabilized, inventory accuracy improved and surpassed pre-implementation levels. Overall, this study finds that the benefits of cloud-based ERP adoption in small enterprises exhibit a gradual and incremental pattern rather than immediate comprehensive improvement. ERP effectiveness first emerges in highly structured and standardized processes and expands progressively as organizational capabilities mature. The findings also highlight the critical roles of top management support, data standardization, and user learning in determining ERP success. This study provides practical insights for small manufacturing enterprises considering cloud-based ERP adoption and contributes empirical evidence to the limited literature on digital transformation in small enterprises.
