;This study utilizes a bistatic meteor radar system configured with a transmitting antenna at the Zhongli Ionospheric Observatory and a receiving antenna at the Xin Wu Weather Station to perform meteor echo identification and localization, and subsequently to analyze horizontal wind fields and derived mesopause temperatures. Observations of underdense meteor trail echoes collected from July 24 to September 18, 2025, are analyzed. The identification and location results derived from the Correlation Method and the Spectrum Method are compared, and both are further evaluated against the outputs provided by the radar system manufacturer’s software. Using the radial velocities (Doppler velocities) and positional information of meteor echoes, the horizontal wind field at altitudes between 80 and 110 km is estimated using the sliding window method. Harmonic analysis and spectrum analysis are applied to investigate atmospheric tides and phase variations, with findings compared to the Horizontal Wind Model (HWM14) and the radar manufacturer’s software. Finally, the ambipolar diffusion coefficient is calculated from the decay time of meteor echo amplitudes to derive its relationship with altitude. Temperature estimation was conducted following the methodology of Hocking (1999). Since the meteor height distribution follows a normal distribution, a Gaussian fit is performed to obtain the full width at half maximum (FWHM). Following the framework of Lee et al. (2016) and integrating Aura/MLS data, regression analysis is conducted to derive the diurnal variation of mesopause temperature, which is then validated against Aura/MLS observations.
