;With the increasing demand for high-performance energy storage devices, the development of lithium-ion battery anode materials with high capacity and excellent cycling stability has become an important research topic. In addition, the utilization of biomass resources for the preparation of carbon materials has attracted considerable attention due to its compatibility with green energy development and environmental sustainability. This study consists of two parts. In the first part, soybean residue-derived activated carbon (SAC) was prepared through KOH activation, followed by a hydrothermal process to load different amounts of MoO2 onto the SAC surface, yielding MoO2(X)@SAC composites. In the second part, graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) was synthesized by thermal polymerization, and Mn3O4 nanoparticles were subsequently loaded onto the g-C3N4 surface through a hydrothermal process to prepare Mn3O4(X)@g-C3N4 composites. The results indicate that the incorporation of an appropriate amount of metal oxides effectively enhances electron transport and lithium-ion storage capability. Among the MoO2(X)@SAC composites, MoO2(60)@SAC exhibited the best electrochemical performance, delivering a capacity of 333.1 mAh g-1 after 500 cycles at a current density of 1 A g-1 and a capacity of 787.3 mAh g-1 after 200 cycles at 0.1 A g-1. For the Mn3O4(X)@g-C3N4 composites, Mn3O4(72.5)@g-C3N4 demonstrated the optimal electrochemical performance, maintaining a capacity of 211.5 mAh g-1 after 500 cycles at 1 A g-1 and delivering a capacity of 438.4 mAh g-1 after 150 cycles at 0.1 A g-1. Overall, the results demonstrate that the composite design of carbon-based materials and transition metal oxides can effectively improve the electrochemical performance of electrode materials. The developed MoO2(60)@SAC and Mn3O4(72.5)@g-C3N4 composites demonstrate considerable potential as high-performance anode materials for lithium-ion batteries.
