本研究結果可為高VOCs排放產業提供低碳替代技術之參考依據,期望協助產業在面對碳盤查、碳費與減排責任時,具備更具環保與能源效益的處理選項。;Although volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are not listed among the greenhouse gases regulated under the Kyoto Protocol, they are still subject to stringent emission concentration limits in practice. As a result, industries are often required to treat VOCs using regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTO). However, this high-temperature oxidation process converts VOCs into CO2 , inadvertently increasing greenhouse gas emissions and creating a conflict between environmental compliance and carbon inventory management.
This study uses a selected copper-clad laminate (CCL) plant as a case study to explore the feasibility of using titanium dioxide (TiO2) photocatalysts for the reduction of VOCs emissions. Through a comprehensive literature review, the study compiles the reaction mechanisms, treatment efficiency, and operating conditions of TiO2 photocatalysis under ambient conditions, and compares these findings with the emission characteristics of conventional RTO systems.
The results of this research aim to provide high-VOC-emitting industries with a low-carbon alternative treatment strategy, offering an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient option in the context of carbon inventory, carbon fees, and emission reduction obligations.
