;This study focuses on Taiwan’s drone industry and examines the integration of financial soundness and sustainable governance (ESG) practices. As drones have become a strategic industry for national defense autonomy and technological innovation, understanding how enterprises balance financial performance with sustainable development is critical for evaluating their long-term competitiveness. While previous studies have primarily focused on technological applications and policy promotion, few have investigated the relationship between corporate financial conditions and ESG implementation, highlighting the practical and academic relevance of this research. The study analyzes five representative drone-related companies in Taiwan—Thunder Tiger Corporation, Coretronic Corporation, Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp, Brinno Incorporated, and LUNG HWA ELECTRONICS CO. LTD.—using data from 2022 to the first half of 2025. The research applies the Financial Five Forces Analysis, which includes profitability, stability, activity, growth, and productivity, to evaluate the financial performance of these companies. In addition, qualitative comparisons of ESG practices are incorporated to provide a comprehensive understanding of how financial management and sustainability efforts interact in the industry. The findings indicate that large enterprises, such as Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp, demonstrate mature governance mechanisms, high financial stability, and transparent information disclosure, whereas small and medium-sized firms tend to focus on technological innovation and regulatory compliance, resulting in more variable financial performance. Notably, differences in growth patterns, operational efficiency, and risk management reflect a two-tiered industry structure where financial soundness and ESG maturity are positively correlated with firm size. Overall, the study concludes that maintaining both robust financial health and effective ESG practices is essential for enhancing the long-term competitiveness of Taiwan’s drone industry. The results provide valuable insights for policymakers, corporate decision-makers, and investors in formulating sustainable development strategies and investment evaluations.
