    摘要: LED 因具有體積小、壽命長、操作反應快、可靠度高、高發光效率、色彩飽和的優點,加上無含汞符合環保要求,LED 已是未來二十一世紀兼具節能與環保之照明光源。LED 晶片之發光效率,一直逐年在快速的提升中,達到每瓦200 流明的終極目標可望在數年後達到,屆時LED 光源便會成為最普遍使用之照明光源。然而,在國際間一味的追求LED 光源之發光效率的情況下,卻鮮少有相關的研究團隊重視到LED 光源光線本身之色彩效能及光學特性及品質之研究,有鑑於此,我們結合在LED 領域中多位具有專長教授之研究能量,提出了一個整合型的計畫,以兼顧高效率與高亮度之LED晶片結構研究及高光學效能表現之LED光源設計及照明應用為重點,以期早日達到以LED 光源全面取代傳統照明器具之目標。在LED 亮度提升之外,光學和色彩品質的表現將成為LED 照明的主要研究課題。為了達到高亮度的要求,多晶片LED 封裝為未來LED 的主要照明光源,其中因為螢光粉的塗佈與晶片的複雜排列,使得光源模型的掌握非常困難;若能建立一個精確的多晶片LED 光源模型,將有助於照明燈具之開發。此外,螢光粉在LED 封裝上的技術優劣對白光LED 的光學表現有極大影響,因此,精確的螢光粉模型對白光LED 封裝的掌握,甚至照明的設計皆有極大助益。有鑑於此,我們在計劃中將從多年的光學研究經驗出發,配合其它子計畫的微結構設計與模擬,進行整合的照明光學設計,更重要的是我們將進行封裝實作及量測驗證,從建立精確多晶片LED 光源模型開始,進而建立精準的螢光粉模型到,並據之發展擁有空間極小色溫偏差的螢光粉塗佈設計與封裝,最後將之應用於LED 照明設計。LED have been regarded as the most possible new light source in the next-generation lighting owing to its small volume, long life, fast response, high reliability, high efficiency, high color purity and environmental benefit. Recently, the luminous efficiency has been dramatically increased owing to many efforts in material engineering. So most people believe that the luminous efficiency may reach 200 lm/W in several years, and then LEDs should replace most light sources in the world. However, when most efforts focus on the progress of luminous efficiency, the other one of the most important issues, i.e., optical and color performance, gets less attention. Therefore, we propose an integration project, where five professors working in different segments in LED research join together to study the chip structure for high brightness and the optics and package for the high performance in lighting. In addition to high brightness, the optics and color performance will be the most important issues in LED lighting. In order to meet the brightness requirement, multi-chip in a package is regarded as the most possible way. However, since the complicated behavior of the interaction between lights and phosphors, a precise phosphor model is not achieved easily. Besides, phosphor-based package needs extended study to obtain good optics and color performance. Thus, a precise optics and phosphor model is very important to LED lighting. In the integrating project, this project serves as one of the sub-project. We will start from our experience in precise optical model in LED optics and are shared with the input from the other sub-projects in the simulation and fabrication of micro-structure, to develop multi-chip model and phosphor model and to make lighting design of LED. Furthermore, we will make LED package based on our design and to evaluate the performance. Finally, we will develop the technology for phosphor-based package to perform minimum spatial color deviation, and apply it to high-quality LED lighting. 研究期間 : 9808 ~ 9907
