The segregation phenomena may exist in a granular bed with a binary mixture due to the external vibrated excitation. This paper studies one larger particle rising from the bottom of a vibrated granular bed filled with smaller particles. The rising velocity of the larger particle is experimentally measured. The influences of the vibrational amplitude, the vibrational acceleration and the Vibrational frequency on the segregation process are analyzed.
