Abstract:	A new method for the synthesis of acetoxyamides and acetates using Merrifield resin is described. The method uses zinc bromide to promote the conversion of Merrifield resin-bound ethers to acetates under ambient conditions. The cleavage products obtained are of high yields and chemical purity.
