    Abstract: 本計畫包括兩大主軸,其一擬繼續三軸式中子散射儀和高解析度中子繞射儀的設計,其二則到NIST執行中子散射實驗,藉由從事實質的研究工作培訓中子束實驗應用人力。在散射儀設計方面,本年度的探討重點放在制定TRR-II計畫第一階段擬興建的三軸式中子散射儀和高解析度中子繞射儀的科學功能。從目前與未來十年國內研究生態與環境的考量上,制定出該兩部中子應用實驗儀有的功能與基本規格,以期能符合國內的需求。在中子散射實驗方面,則探討器所應具下兩項主題︰(1)高溫超導氧化物的超導性與磁性間互動及相互制衡關係,仍是研究重點。藉著對特定層面的雜摻所引發的物理效應,探討該層面的組成原子對系統超導與磁性的影響。本年度的重點放在BaO層面所扮演的角色,進一步瞭解該類系統。(2)能源問題日漸浮現,在鋰電池的陰極材料中,鋰錳氧化物和鋰鎳氧化物系統的混價效應對電池的再使用性有直接的關係。本年度的研究重點放在混價效應對錳或鎳磁性的影響,以及系統裡形成錳或鎳clusters的機制。 The developing of the knowledge needed for designing high-resolution powder diffractometer (HRPD) and triple-axis spectrometer (TAS) as well as the applications of neutron scattering techniques to scientific research are proposed. We propose to continue the neutron scattering experiments at NIST, strengthening the cooperative programs with NIST, and learning the design techniques for beam application instruments. The scientific functions and the specifications of the HRPD and TAS (to be constructed at the first phase of the TRR-II project) will be defined based on the domestic user needs. For neutron scattering experiments, we will study the following two topics. (1) The interplay between the superconductivity and magnetism in high-TC oxides remains to be an important subject in current research. By study the effects of the basic properties due to partial replacement of the atoms on specific atomic layers, the basic function of that layer will be examined. This year, we will pay special attention on the functions of the BaO layer. (2) As an intercalation cathode material for rechargeable lithium batteries, the spinel LiMn2O4 and layered LiNiO2 has attracted considerable attention. This year, we propose to study the effects of doping On the Mn/ Ni magnetism and the mechanism for forming Mn/Ni clusters. 研究期間:9002 ~ 9012
