Chen Zilong is one of the famous writers in the late Ming Dynasty. He changed his emotions in literature in the transition of his times. The researcher divided Chen’s poetry into two stages – the preliminary stage is based on “Jiang Li Jian” and the latter stage is on “Xiang Zhen Ge”. Among these poetry,Chen used plenty images of spring to presen this poems. The present study analyzed “images of spring” by dividing it into three dimensions. The first part discussed Chen’s background, relationships, and writings. It also examined the connection between Chen’s relationship with Liu Ru-shi and “Jiang Li Jian” .The second part inspected Chen’s viewpoints about poetry and how he composed poems. In addition, Chen’s “four difficulties” and images of spring had been revealed. The last part compared the most common used spring scenes in Chen’s poems in order to better understand his feelings. By means of investigating the above three parts, Chen’s use of spring are more clear and evident.
