A powerful remediated method recently integrated surfactant flushing technology with biodegradation is applied to remove polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in soil-water systems. Surfactant additives are assumed to decrease surface tensions and interfacial tensions between PAHs and soil. PAHs trapped in soil are released then biodegraded by microorganisms in aquifer. PAH bioavailability therefore is increased. However, surfactant additive does not merely bring the positive influences on PAH biodegradations; lots of negative results are observed. The characteristics of soil additives might be modify by surfactant additives. The distribution of PAH on soil, including adsorption on the surface of soil and partition into soil organic matters was changed to affect PAH biodegradation. It is necessary to realize the relationship between the distribution and biodegradation for evaluating the PAH remediation in surfactant-modified soil/water system. Our previous researches have been discussed the fate of NOCs and surfactant in soil/water system in detail. Moreover, the impact of surfactant on the fates of NOCs in soil/water system was also discussed. PAH-biodegrading micrograsims were successfully isolated and identified. The surfactant additives on PAH biodegradation in aqueous were researched. The changes of microbial community and physiological characteristics also were detected. This project will follow previous results to reseach the effect of PAH distribution on biodegradation in surfactant-modeified soil/water systems. In the first year, the project will develop the surfactant-modified soils. The changed disctrbution of PAH on surfactant-modified soils/water system is discussed in detail. In the second year, it is planed to evaluate the PAH biodegradation after the changed distribution of PAH. The bacterial community and physiological characteristics will be realized in free-living and immbolized state of soil-water system. The key enzymes such as laccase are selected to remove PAH. Free and immobilized states of laccase are accepted to develop for PAH biodegradation. 研究期間:9508 ~ 9607
