| 摘要: | 地球科學研究推動中心為國科會自然處所屬四個研究推動中心之一，中心設立於國立中央大學。中心主任由自然處長遴選派任，另設立中心審議委員會，成員由中心主任邀集全國地科相關系所單位主管擔任(含主任共計十七位)，協助中心審查申請案件及協助主任規劃推動地科相關活動，完成自然處賦予之任務，此即為地科中心業務推動計劃，主要任務如下： (一)協助自然處訂定地球科學學門研究發展方向與重點，策劃、推動與評估該學門之重要長期性學術研究。 (二)協助自然處推展與國外相關研究機構之及學術交流與合作。 (三)協助國際合作處審查地球科學學門「國際研討會補助案」及協助綜合業務處審查地球科學學門「大陸學者訪問補助案」。 (四)審核及補助地球科學學術會議、研討會、及學術聯繫活動。 (五)審核及補助地球科學學門「國外學者短期訪問補助案」。 (六)執行地球科學圖書服務計畫。 (七)執行自然處委辦事項。另圖書服務部份，藉多種地科期刊(包括紙本與電子)與地科資料庫(包括地球科學的GeoRef和大氣的MGA)的持續訂購與維護，以及相關地科圖書的採購，提供全國地科界同仁所需的地科相關資訊。目前本中心在本計畫的支援下，共訂購65種紙本期刊(其中31種維持紙本訂購、另 34種配合出版社政策改為電子版訂購)、10種全文檢索的電子期刊及GeoRef與MGA資料庫等。另97年中Nature Geoscience創刊，此為Nature Japan K.K將地科相關文章集結成刊，鑒於Nature在科學界的領先地位，中心積極促成購置此刊電子版，供地科研究單位同仁參考使用；98下半年向處內爭取到購置回溯性電子期刊經費乙筆，中心用於購置原每年訂購15種電子期刊之回溯性期刊，可大幅增加其實用性及完整性；99年購買Nature兩階段(1869~1949年、1950~1986年)回溯性期刊，配合國科會科資中心已購置(1987~1996年)，可讓學界完整查詢及使用此刊。此外，每年度不定期採購新出版的書籍、圖冊等設備，致力充實地科中心網站平台圖書期刊庫藏量，服務平台中提供＂論文期刊影印服務＂，地科界同仁可要求中心就所訂有之期刊進行全文影印，提供研究人員資料查詢便捷性及參考價值，更對跨領域之研究人員提供更多資料檢索的便利性。此服務目前由中心負擔相關費用，期望能讓購置之相關圖書期刊發揮出更大效益，服務更廣更多的研究人員。本中心另設有北部(於台灣大學)及南部(於中山大學)地區地球科學圖書服務中心，加強對鄰近區域研究單位提供圖書服務。 Earth Science Research Promotion Center (ESRPC) is based in the National Central University as one of four research promotion centers of Natural Division of National Science Council (NSC). The primary missions of ESRPC are to: (1) assist Natural Division in establishing the key issues and main streams of the research fields of Earth Science, and in planning and evaluating the long-term academic performance of related field. (2) assist Natural Division in promoting the academic communication and cooperation between domestic and foreign institutions. (3) assist Internal Cooperation Division in evaluating the application case of international workshop and assist General Affairs Division in evaluating the application case of the visit of scholar in mainland in Earth Science field. (4) evaluate and support academic meeting, workshop, and academic activity in Earth Science Field. (5) evaluate and support the short period visit of foreign scholar in Earth Science Field. (6) carry out library service project of ESRPC. (7) conduct other tasks assigned by NSC. The Evaluation Committee of ESRPC consists of 17 members to evaluate the application cases and related academic activities. This project is the administrative promotion project of ESRPC and is responsible for the above mentioned tasks. This library service is also provided by the Earth Science Research Promotion Center (ESRPC) of Natural Division of National Science Council (NSC). With persistent procurement and maintenance of printed and electronic earth science journals and data bases, the needs of the colleagues in earth science community for the academic research and applications can be satisfied. Under the auspicious of the NSC, ESRPC orders 66 earth science-related journals and 10 electronic journals with the capability of access of full article. In addition, the data bases, namely, GeoRef and MGA, are renewed every year. Nature Geoscience was published in 2008, which was edited by Nature Japan K. K, collecting all the geoscience articles to this journal. According to the first place of Nature in science, ESRPC was enthusiastic about procurement there electronic journal, and providing to all earth science professors. In 2009, ESRPC had the budget of archives, and ESRPC started procurement 15 different electronic journals every year. In 2010, ESRPC bought Nature form year 1869~1949 and 1950~1986 two kind of archives. Two branches serve as library of ESRPC in National Taiwan University and Sun-Yit-Sen University, respectively, were established to provide the library services to their regional earth science communities. Except for the above services, ESRPC also provides the copy service of the journal articles. The colleagues can ask for this copy service in accordance with their needs. Currently, the copy service is free and beneficial to those who do not have the journals in their areas.
