研究期間：10108~10207;This research project will study how China’s social and political changes influenced xiqu transformation since 1949. The project will examine how the Chinese government utilized its power and resources to promote the Xiqu Reform Movement in 1950s, and fundamentally changed the evolutionary process of Chinese xiqu and then created a kind of new xiqu. In Chinese language, the kind of new xiqu is usually referred to the term “xiqu”just as the traditional xiqu created before 1949. However, the new xiqu differs from its forerunner, the traditional xiqu, in various aspects.
