    Title: 星際冰晶光衍化模擬實驗;Simulation Experiment on Photolysis of Interstellar Ice Analogues

    Abstract: 研究期間:10108~10207;This proposal is a continuation of the research work we have been devoting in for last few years. Within next three years, attentions will be focused on the synchrotron radiation photolysis of TNOs ice analogues and interstellar ices. On the other hand, we will also study what role sulfide played in original life. As far as we know, carbonyl sulfide reacts on amino acids to form peptide, then peptide and peptide interaction can form protein. Also, Infrared spectra of TNOs and sulfide containing ice in different temperature conditions will be measured to establish the database for future astronomical observation use (partial data can be download in http://amslab.zxq.net/?page_id=36). Gases which will be used to simulate TNOs and sulfide containing ice analogues will be deposited in-situ on a substrate which is kept in ultra high vacuum (10-10 torr) and low temperature (~18K). The vacuum ultraviolet light source will utilize the synchrotron radiation source to provide 4~30eV photon beam. The formation of large organic molecules and the species desorbed in the photolysis process will be monitored by a Fourier transformed IR spectrometer and mass spectrometer, respectively. The involved chemical processes will be analyzed through various selected initial conditions and experimentally controlled parameters as well incorporating all sorts of isotopes with the labeled experiments to further our understanding on the photolysis mechanism. The residue left over on the substrate after the sample was brought back to room temperature will be analyzed by a high performance liquid chromatograph to find the species and their abundance of large organic molecules.
