Abstract: none Chromatic Aberration is a knotty problem in lens design. People used a lot of energy to solve this problem but we are also persecuted with it long time. Many years ago, scientist used diffraction theory to find a good solution to this problem but the design results didn’t be come true. Nowadays the mechanical manufacturing technology was made a great progress on precision. Thus the ideal DOE could be made and applied on several purposes. In this study, we use binary optical surface on microscope objective lens to replace the achromatic doublet. We select a lens that is the patent design. And we try to design a binary surface to replace the doublet and achieve the same specification. In this paper, we chose a 10X objective lens to be sample, and use common used optical design programs to design and evaluate the image properties. Finally we get a good result that we can reduce the chromatic aberration more efficiently and minimize the volume of microscope objective lens.
