個人電腦銷量在2011年衝到3.64億台的歷史高峰後,此後銷量年年走下坡。我國半導體終端產品由資訊與通信科技 (Information and Communication Technology, ICT) 產業相關產品,涵蓋到智慧型手機、平板電腦。全球半導體業近幾年之平均年成長僅3-5%,但有些世界前十大的IC設計商像美國高通、臺灣聯發科技,在前幾年可以年成長兩位數,主要即是掌握以智慧型手機為主的行動裝置的產品成長爆發的大趨勢。自2017年以來,智慧型手機的滲透率已經達到飽和,我國的積體電路 (Integrated Circuit, IC) 設計公司面臨到成長的瓶頸,在2016年的營收持續成長但獲利大幅衰退,2017年營收開始衰退響起了警鐘。全球的半導體業者展開了一連串的併購,業界並努力發展物聯網生態圈,競逐下一波的產品大趨勢。本文想探討的是在智聯網浪潮下的臺灣IC 設計商的機會與挑戰。;Sales volume of personal computer is decreasing year on year since it peaked at 364 million units in 2011. Taiwan’s semiconductors manufacturing end-terminal products range from ICT products to mobile smartphones and tablets. Leading the growth in this sector with double digits growth are companies like Qualcomm and Mediatek which focus on the market trend of smartphones and mobile devices market. Present market for smartphones and mobile devices have reach saturation, Taiwan’s IC design companies have reached a growth bottleneck. Global semiconductors industry has started a series of merger and acquisition cycle. Taiwan’s semiconductors industry revenue growth have declined substantially in 2016 and the rate have diminish at an alarming rate in 2017. Conversely, several global leading semiconductors design companies begin developing ecosystem in the next wave of Internet of Thing. This article will explore Taiwan’s IC design companies’ opportunities and challenges in this trend.
