    Abstract: 福衛五號已在台灣時間2017年8月25日發射升空,現正執行2年的科學任務。其為太陽同步軌道,與地理赤道面呈98.28°的傾角。飛行高度在720公里高,通過赤道的當地時間約在1030LT或2230LT。安裝在福衛五號上的先進電離層探測儀(Advanced Ionospheric Probe, AIP)為多合一的電漿量測儀器,可實地量測電離層電漿成份與密度、速度、溫度等物理量。在小尺度上,可以現役相關酬載的最高取樣率,量測電漿不規則體的空間分布與暫態變化。在大尺度上,可完整得到電離層電漿在經度、緯度、季節、太陽活動的變化等。可長期且連續觀測各式電漿擾動變化,協助了解電離層在地震前兆的異常變化等相關研究。本研究計畫將針對福衛五號所處的環境條件,使用AIP科學資料研究午夜前中低緯度地區離子溫度脊與溫度谷的結構。除了能更清楚電漿傳輸與能量交換的過程,此研究將有助於AIP科學資料的校正與檢驗。 ;FORMOSAT-5 satellite has been launched in 25 August 2017 CST into a 98.28° inclination sun-synchronous circular orbit at 720 km altitude in the 1030/2230 LT sectors. The orbital coverage provides a great opportunity to survey terrestrial ionosphere globally from equatorial to polar region. Advanced Ionospheric Probe (AIP) onboard the FORMOSAT-5 satellite is an all-in-one plasma sensor with sampling rate up to 8,192 Hz to measure ionospheric plasma concentrations, velocities, and temperatures over a wide range of spatial scales. Once comprehensive dataset available from the AIP, a systematic examination of longitudinal and seasonal variations of the ionospheric parameters in the topside F region can be conducted for all latitudinal coverage. The transient and long-term variations of ionospheric plasma can be monitored in the upcoming solar maximum period and are benefit to public and scientists who are interested in space weather and seismic precursors associated with strong earthquakes. In this proposal, pre-midnight low-latitude ion temperature crests and troughs will be investigated in AIP science data. The study can contribute to understand plasma transportation and energy exchange processes and also helps AIP science data calibration and verification in the future.
