;On the basis of ethnic and gender research, this study explores the effects and influences of Hakka society and marriage family on the microentrepreneurship developed by female new immigrants in the Hakka society and examines how the female new immigrants responded to these effects and influences; furthermore, this study analyzes the agency and relation of the subjects in the field. This study has the following three purposes: (1) to understand how Hakka society and marriage family influenced new immigrants’ entrepreneurial processes; (2) to analyze the agency and relation of the subjects in the field by examining what actions new immigrants took to transform, accumulate, and negotiate to facilitate continuous economic empowerment when they were faced with the effects of Hakka society and marriage family;(3) to respond to how the disadvantaged situations of specific groups can provoke discussion under the gender mainstreaming and ethnic minority policies. This study investigates how new immigrants responded to their Hakka society and marriage family through their actions on the basis of their ethnic groups, gender, and socioeconomic classes and gradually accumulated their capitals. For academic contributions, this study focuses on new immigrants as the actors of the field and agents in the relation between local microstructures and entrepreneurial actions and discusses the interaction between structures and actions. This study is a one-year field research project focusing on the economic empowerment of new immigrants in Hakka society. We will conduct in-depth interviews and participating observations to explore how new immigrants take empowering actions in their Hakka society and marriage family. Finally, we will conceptualize and interpret the phenomenon and publish relevant findings.
