;The study aimed to probe into whether it was possible for Wang Yang-Ming’s theory of attaining good conscience by carrying out self-reflection to connect with the Dingjing skill of Zhou Dun-Yi of the Northern Song Dynasty. It started with the introduction of the era in which Wang Yang-Ming lived to discuss step by step his life experience and the development of his theories to enter each aspect of conscience. Additionally, it compared with the three major guidelines of The Great Learning (Daxue): manifesting one’s bright virtues, loving people, and reaching perfect goodness to concretely comprehend the values and meanings of being a saint internally and being a king externally and connecting with the heavenly Dao. Next, the author extracted the relevant Dingjing thought of Wang Yang-Ming to compare with the Samatha skill and tranquility theory of Zhou Dun-Yi and to find the similarities of the two doctrines before unfolding the theory of Wang Yang-Ming: the implementation modes of showing respect, attaining tranquility by removing desires, and reaching Samatha by following doctrines, which incorporated the Dingjing skill into the theory of attaining good conscience by carrying out self-reflection, to provide an opener field of view to realize Wang Yang-Ming’s theory of attaining good conscience by carrying out self-reflection.
