;Abstract Hakka food culture embodies the migration history, life wisdom, and values of the Hakka ethnic group. Its flavor characteristics of "salty, fragrant, and fatty" along with the spiritual connotations of "cherishing resources, diligence, and perseverance" constitute an important component of Taiwan′s multicultural landscape. In the contemporary media environment, how to represent and inherit this cultural asset through innovative forms has become an academic issue worthy of exploration. This study takes the reality program "Chef′s Crash Landing: Hakka Kitchen," a transnational co-production between Hakka TV (Taiwan) and Korea′s 3Y CORPORATION, as the research object. Employing textual analysis and documentary analysis, this research explores how the program represents Hakka food culture, what role it plays in the inheritance of ethnic culture, and its promotion strategies and effectiveness. The research findings are threefold: First, the program represents the core characteristics of Hakka food culture through four dimensions: "the wisdom of preserving food through cherishing resources and fermentation," "the flavor aesthetics of saltiness, fragrance, and richness," "the rice culture of reverence for heaven and ancestors," and "innovative dialogue between tradition and modernity." Second, the program transcends traditional functions of "recording" and "preservation" in cultural inheritance. Through strategies of transnational co-production, reality narrative, and cultural translation, it transforms Hakka food culture from "ethnic-specific" to "internationally comprehensible," successfully breaking through the viewership bubble of ethnic media. Third, the program adopts five promotion strategies: "transnational co-production," "star power effect," "experiential learning," "cultural translation," and "multi-platform broadcasting." It has been awarded the Golden Bell Award for "Most Popular Variety Program" and achieved a 40-fold increase in online traffic. This study proposes "cultural translation" as a core concept for analyzing cross-cultural media representation, distinguishing between two modes of representation—"one-way translation" and "two-way dialogue"—providing a theoretical framework for subsequent related research. At the practical level, the study suggests that future Hakka cultural promotion should continue to support transnational co-productions, emphasize pre-production fieldwork, strengthen the role of cultural consultants, and expand attention to health and sustainability issues, enabling Hakka food culture to continuously activate, dialogue, and evolve in contemporary society.
